What do I need to bring on the day of my appointment?
- Medicare card
- Pension Card (if you have one)
- Private Health Insurance details
- Your referral from your General Practitioner or Optometrist
- Current prescription glasses and sunglasses
What will happen to me on the day of my appointment?
Firstly you will be greeted by our receptionists who will take your relevant details (i.e. medicare card, pension card, private health etc). You will then be called by an Orthoptist who will take you through a preliminary assessment of your vision and eye health. The Orthoptist will ensure that all of the relevant tests have been performed so that Dr Zadeh has the necessary information for your consultation. If treatment is needed, North Queensland Eye Clinic staff will take you through each step and ensure that you are aware of all the relevant information.
Do I need a referral to see the Ophthalmologist?
If it your first visit to us at North Queensland Eye Clinic you will need a referral from either your Optometrist or General Practitioner. Your referral will last for 12 months. Our reception staff will inform you if a new referral is needed for subsequent visits.

How long will I have to wait in the clinic on the day of my consultation?
At North Queensland Eye clinic it is our highest priority to keep patient waiting times to a minimum. If it is your first visit to our clinic we will need to spend a little more time getting to know your eye health. You should be prepared to be with us for 1-1.5hrs.
How much does surgery cost? (cataract, pterygium or eyelid surgery)
It is best to call our office and talk to one of our reception staff. They will be able to give you an accurate quote based on your condition.
